Rimlay Park Resort Review

If you would like to know our experience in this resort read on.

My husband and I work full time. Parents out there could surely empathize with us wanting to getaway and simply relax.  And in today’s busy and structured world, this does not come by easily.  Parents have busy schedules and kids’ have timetable full of classes from dusk to twilight, plus special classes here and there. With all these crazy sched in the family, finding the common time for a holiday is rare and difficult. Fortunately though, the previous week we had that rare time. And so we grabbed the opportunity and went on our unplanned staycation.

For us, a perfect staycation means staying in a new place with a nice accommodation, clean air conditioned room with wifi, fridge, and coffee maker, and most importantly a place with kids pool. So we hurriedly booked Rimlay Park Resort at Phattalung Thailand.

As soon as the booking was confirmed, we drove there the following day. Since it is unplanned, I forgot the kids’ life jackets. They love swimming but they do not know how to swim yet, thus the life jackets.  We ought to enroll them in a swimming class. And yes we will, it is important.

We got to the resort after hours of going back and forth exploring the outback. Yes it is in the countryside. It is a little haven in the middle of acres and acres of rice fields and forest.

The place is good and we rated it 4/5. But it does not have a proper kids pool unlike Haad Kaew Resort. It is actually an adult pool with a shallow area where adults could sit around and tête-à-tête while in the water.

Anyway, all’s well that ends well.  The kids had so much fun.  The accommodating lady owner lent them swimming aid noodles. Although short, but it had been a relaxing stay and an enjoyable one for the kids.

Rimlay Park Resort is a great staycation place for families or a getaway haven for group of friends. If you would like to know more about this resort, read Rimlay Park Resort Review.

Rimlay Park Resort Review: Hotel in the Middle of Nowhere

AccomodationRimlay Park Resort

Location: Chang wat Phattalung, Amphoe Muang Phattalung, Tambon Lam Pam, Prak Pra, 93000, Thailand
If you are driving  by private car and type in the resort’s name in English in your GPS, it is going to take you at the middle of nowhere, which is like 1 or 2 kilometers away from where it actually is. So type in its Thai name instead  (copy paste this) ริมเล ปาร์ค รีสอร์ท.

Basically Rimlay Park Resort is situated in a very secluded area with only nature around.  There are no public commutes,  you could either go by private car or through a travel agency.

Room (all air conditioned)

Their Deluxe suite is pretty large in fact it is the most spacious of all the accommodations we have stayed in so far. It has a romantic feel due to its yellow lighting, chandelier, and a soft four-post bed.  There is no white light option though, which others might prefer. And oh,  the bathroom is quite large too.

Here’s a short video clip og Rimlay Park Resort, take a glimpse.

Sockets

Plenty.  Super plenty! The only resort to meet the standards of today’s generation of gadgetry. We did not run short of sockets even with the number of electronics we brought along with us and needed to charge all of them at the same time in the evening.

Wifi

The Wifi is pretty good. We rank it second among the hotel connectivity we have encountered. All of us were able to satisfy all our usual internet cravings like FB, web browsing, blogging and yes even movie streaming was hitch free.

Amenities

They have got the usual complimentary bottled water, towels,  toiletries, flat-screen TV,  fridge, coffee and electric kettle, however, slippers,  hairdryer,  and shower caps are missing. But oh,  they provide different towels for the pool.

Pool

Perhaps the weakest link in this resort is the pool. It is not child friendly infact it is even borderline dangerous. The kids pool is actually not designed for kids as it is not enclosed for safety and going beyond it is a 6 foot drop into the adult’s pool. It is not even friendly to adults who are casual swimmers or those who just want to hang out in the shallow part of the pool because there is non. Aside from the kids area the entirety of the pool is 6 feet deep.

Resort ground

Bungalows surround the pool. It is paved around this area.  However, the driveway that leads from the entrance to the information area is not.   And at the opposite end,  the lake is only a few walks away with grasses, trees,  a pond,  a few herons and other birds around.

Food

The strongest point of this resort is their food. Food servings are hefty. It is cooked fresh, and is delicious. Fruits are fresh.  There are plenty of drink choices. And it is reasonably priced as well.

Clientele

Rimlay Park Resort is a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.  It is a great place to go to for,

a quiet holiday amongst fresh  greenery,  just you and your read
family reunions
Group getaways with friends or family
Intimate moment with your special someone
Photographers who would want to take photos of sunrise in Thalenoi

Services

Superb!  The lady owner/manager and her staff are among the friendliest and most accommodating people we have come across in the hotels we have been in.  They attended to our needs without invading our privacy.

Price

Affordable and reasonable!
Two nights cost us 3200 baht ($97)including breakfast of four.  They also offer group packages.

Overall

We give Rimlay Park Resort 4/5 rating.  Although it does not have a proper kids pool,  our kids enjoyed it nonetheless. The rooms and toilet are squeaky clean,  air is fresh,  and they are tolerant of kids.
So for sure, we will be back on our next long weekend.
