Fans of actor Cha EunWoo have had enough of the malicious rumors and defamation the actor has been receiving since his debut in 2016. Following the allegations of using former member MoonBin for ‘fame and money’, fans said enough is enough!
On the 21st of April, international fans sent protest trucks with LED light messages in front of Fantagio office in Seoul.
The protest truck messages reads
“#CHAEUNWOO has sacrificed the most for the team and received the most attacks, but Fantagio is only standing by and doing nothing” , “Please take strong action against false rumors and malicious comments”, “Stop only thinking about making money and properly protect Cha Eunwoo”.
Another wave of protest happened on the 23rd of April by the Korean fans who sent wreaths protests right by the door front of Fantagio office.
The messages on the wreaths include the phrases
“Suing is a service for the fans,” “I can’t stand it anymore after 9 years of not suing, stop ignoring the rumors and sue,” and “No matter what you do, stop neglecting malicious individual fans who distort true feelings, slander, and badmouth Cha Eun Woo.”
Shortly after, Fantagio responded with an official letter released through its official X account. In the letter, the agency expressed awareness of the allegations, rumors, and defamation; and that it is collecting information carefully. The agency also thanked the fans for giving them tips and encouraged them to continue doing so. Fans can give their information on the email address given. They assured fans that they will respond strongly to all acts that infringe upon the rights of their artists.
Fans are, however, dissatisfied by this response. They said that the message is very generic, and this is the kind of letter the agency give to emails fans have sent prior. Also, they are protesting specifically for CHA EUNWOO, why would the agency respond with Astro?
Fans threaten that they will “Keep going until you answer the voice”… Cha Eun-woo fandom continues truck and wreath protest.
