Homesickness is nothing new to an expatriate like me. To most Filipinos living and working overseas, it is inherent. Being able to communicate or express concerns to loved ones is the only consolation to ease up this homesickness. That is why mobile phones and laptops are expatriates and OFW’s best friends.
Just recently, I came across free SMS Philippines. It is a new SMS portal, which allows sending of text messages to any mobile network, take note, any mobile network in the Philippines. Registration is not needed. All you need is an internet connection, open the website and send UNLIMITED messages FOR FREE. Yes, that’s right. For free! No hidden charges or fees. Plus, you can send messages in any language.
It is easy and very simple to use, it works and it’s for FREE! Messages are received almost in an instant. It is an uncomplicated and honest app. If you need to send a quick message to your relatives back home or you are out of load, this is the right app for you.
For an expatriate like me, this is heaven sent. It could not get any better than this. It works. Most of all it’s FREE

Awesome information. Free SMS, that’s a money saver.
That’s great news! Finally!
My husband used something like this while deployed. He’d send an email from wherever his ship was, and it would arrive seconds later as a text to my phone here in the US. It’s pretty cool! I would respond back, using text, and he’d get an email on his end.
This is great! I often need to send text blasts for the events that I do, and this would make the task much cheaper for me. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
True. We should take advantage of whatever technology we have, and make them work for us.
Wow! This is something new! Although Chikka, Line, and Viber are pretty much of the same nature, one can never have too many apps if only to get our message across oceans!
This is great for people who don’t have load to reply to text messages. I also use one to communicate with my mom.
We have a similar free messaging service here in India called Way2sms.com, we can send unlimited messages. Thanks for sharing anyway.
Free SMS is great because it will let us keep communication on a regular basis even if our loved ones work abroad.
Wow, that’s great. I can’t wait to try it out. Sending text messages can be so expensive. This is definitely a great way for me to save. 🙂
Good for you! I’m also an expat Mum living in Singapore and my parents and sibs are all in Germany. I wish we have similar free messaging service too.
Yes I agree. I have relatives and friends in the US and Australia. It would have been really good if we have this kind of service to reach them.
