Experience It

Experience It
There are many truths of which the full meaning cannot be realized until personal experience has brought it home. – John Stuart Mill

Experience is the best teacher especially for kinesthetic and musical type of learners.  My daughter, who is a kinesthetic learner, is into music these days.  She is going to play the role of Jack’s mom in “Jack and the Bean Stalk” musical play as part of her school’s annual honors day activity.  She is very excited.  We hear her hum, sing, murmur her lines while playing at home.  This experience has brought a new found interest in playing piano.  No wonder she took out her old, broken kiddie mini piano we bought when she was just a baby.  She has been pretending playing it.  We thought of buying her a new one, but nowadays branded, new musical instruments cost an arm and a leg, and besides we don’t want to live beyond our means. So to bridge the gap, we thought of my musician’s friend used gear. This is the only solution.  Anyway, what matters most is quality and experience.

Thrift shopping and used things, are you into these?

  1. Thrift shopping, definitely! Used things, why not? I am currently 6 months pregnant so I am getting a lot of hand-me-down baby stuff from my friends! 🙂

  2. When it comes to electronics, If I have the money, I try to buy the brand new ones. This way, I’ll be sure it will last longer and I know there are no damages. But then again, that is if the price is affordable. Ha-ha for keyboards?!? The prices can be just too much! Like a down payment for a house and lot already! Huhu 🙂
