KidsEmail Review: Protect Your Child

As the internet becomes an essential part at work and the household, the safety and security of children are put on the line.  Young children to teenagers are hooked up in the internet.  May it be for school use or just to go with the trend, the truth of the matter is that, the internet is as alluring to children as it is to grown ups. It, being an open source of virtually everything under the sun, puts children in great danger.  We’ve all read of horrible stories about children missing, molested, raped, kidnapped, or subject to sex trafficking directly or indirectly involving internet use.  Aside from these, obscene videos, photos, other graphic materials, and inappropriate words are all over the internet which are all total nightmares to parents.

The dilemma is; how will you keep your child safe from all of these, in this internet-necessitated times?

Actually there are more work to be done on this matter.  However, there are websites that are absolutely child-friendly, safe and sheer heaven-sent for parents.  One of these is Email for Kids, which I straight out love and strongly recommend to parents.  Let me talk you through its fantastic features.

First off, you have to get yourself and your child an account which will only take a jiffy.

REGISTRATION

Go to www.kidsemail.org to create an account, which is as easy as 1-2-3. Make sure you enter a valid email for the necessary instructions to activate your account. After your account is activated, you will be taken to the Parental Control Panel where you can add the accounts for your children.

ADDING CHILDREN

Adding Children is very easy. One of the cool features of Kids Email is that it can actually grow with your child. There is a simple option for you to have a standard child account which will give your child an @kidsemail.org address, or there is an option for an older child that will have an e-mail of @kmail.org with an older look and feel. This is a great tool that allows your kids to keep their email address even through pre-teen and teen years. This is a setting that can be switched at any time.

The best part is the Parental Control. You will definitely have full control of the accounts!  Now, I know this might cause some privacy issue for some, but a child’s safety should always outweighs any other issues.

So, what are its great features?

Dads are Parents Too, Right?

Dads nowadays have surely evolved.  They have become more concerned and involved in rearing their children. They have become real Dads in the truest sense of the word. They’re no longer just the father figure who works to provide the needs of the family. Now Dads are seen doing things like,

  • cooking breakfast
  • doing the grocery
  • dressing their daughters
  • doing their daughter’s hair
  • wearing matching shirt with Mom and the kids
  • doing the dishes or laundry
  • sending kids to school
  • changing diaper

These are few of the things that modern Daddies are embracing as responsible parent. Whenever they’re seen doing these, women can’t help but go “ah, that’s so cute!” In Thailand, men who take care of his children are highly respected. Let this be the measure of being a real man!

Ice Cream Maker for Summer

Ice cream maker toy is one of the many awesome toys marketed in Youtube nowadays. What makes this really awesome is that, it gives children the feel of making a real ice cream.  The ice cream set comes with play dough in 4 different colors, ice lolly molders, several colorful popsicles, and the ice cream maker itself which needs to be assembled.

I think it is a great toy for the following reasons.

1.  It promotes fine motor movements and coordination.

2. It promotes creativity and artistry.

3. It fires up her imagination.

There are two points I want to stress here.  When it comes to buying toys parents should also take into consideration the materials the toy is made from.  For plastic toys, always make sure that they are BPA and phthalates free.  Personally (if I could help it), I would still go for wooden toys over plastic ones.

Anyway…

Summer is definitely having a blast. She has been wanting this toy the first time she saw it in Youtube, and finally she got one!

World Book Day 2015

World Book Day

I remember an incident when I was young, my father and an American traveler were exchanging facts about the countries in Asia.  They, particularly had a long discussion about Singapore.  After awhile the American traveler asked my father about other places he has gone to.  My Dad said he has never been to any places outside the Philippines. The foreigner was like “damn, you talked as if you’ve gone to those places!”  Then he answered, “I read them from Reader’s Digest!

Today’s World Book Day, if you haven’t read a book in your life, it’s not too late.  Now is definitely a good start.

What kind of book do you like reading?
