Assembling GunPla is my kids’ newest craze. Gundam Plastic is a Japanese plastic models which comes in parts and need to be cut and put together. It comes with a super detailed instructions and sometimes stickers for certain models. Instructions must be followed properly and also right tools should he used.
Gundam is definitely a toy for the big boys. It takes a lot of patience to build one, but a creative mind to visualize the by-product. For this same reason I want my kids to try and get their hands and mind busy with this. By doing this they learn to be patient, to control their excitement, and to follow instructions. And of course it takes them away from the screen for at least a few ours.
As first timers they are doing Gundam SD and Petit’G Guy HG. They were able to finish it help Dad’s help.
I remember feeling so happy about a new something given to me by an older cousin. I realized later that those were preloved. I thought at that time that it was a practice peculiar to my family only. I come to know much later that it is a universal thing.
Hand me downs are practical way of dressing babies and toddlers. For one, kids these ages grow so fast, so apparels are worn only for a few times. And also, this saves parents a few bucks for more important things which should be bought new and unused.
Preloved items for babies and toddlers include.
1. Shirts, dresses, shorts, and pants
2. Baby blankets. If you’re planning of using cloth diapers then buy these new.
3. Some baby toys
4. Baby bags and accessories
5. Baby crib, walker, tub
Things that parents shouldn’t buy second hand.
3. Stuff toys especially if your family has a history of asthma.
4. Socks, shoes, baby bib and mittens
Has this been a thing practiced in your family?

These following tips are based on personal experience as a mom. Without a doubt, parents have different practices at home when it comes to their child. The tips here might not be to your liking, but these however could give you some ideas.
Looking at a sick, in pain child is just the most heartbreaking sight in the world. If it’s only possible to take and have that pain instead. Without question I would.
Do you feel the same way?
So when my child is sick I will turn the world upside down just to take those medicine inside his/her throat. ^_^ Here are the things I did to administer medicine especially when my kids were young. These are in no particular order.
1. Secretly mix it in milk. This is effective if the med is not bitter.
2. Use a dropper and squirt the med inside the mouth secretly, fast, and abruptly.
3. Antibiotics are usually bitter so I mix this in just the right amount of chocolate drink so they finish the whole thing.
4. If it is a tablet, I place it in soft fruit like banana, ripe papaya so they could just easily swallow it without chewing.
5. Or crush the tablet and mix in a little sugar.
6. One time, telling them that they could drink softdrinks after taking their medicine was effective.
7. After my son got hospitalized he told me he does not want to go back, so I used that to make him take his medicine.
There you go folks.
If you have got your own practices at home, please do share. It might be helpful to other parents or parents to be.
There’s some truth in “Life starts at 40”.
A relatively healthy person frequents clinics or hospitals during his 30’s. Pains and sickness seem to appear out of nowhere during this time. If these symptoms are left unattended could complicate into something serious, as often told by doctors to patients. Our body is like a car. After the warranted years, bolts loosen up and parts wore off. As we near our 40’s, people start thinking of lifestyle change such as quit smoking, limit alcohol in-take, engaging oneself in a regular exercise, and eating healthy. Reasons vary.
For us, we want to live long enough to see our kids grow and attain stability in life, and if our bodies permit maybe meet our grandchildren.
Among the lifestyle changes mentioned above, the latter two are the most challenging for us. But since we need to start afresh on our 40’s we have to take on the needed changes.
If you can read, you can learn EVERYTHING! Reading is knowledge itself. If you read, there is no limit to the knowledge you gain. There is no limit to the places you can go.
For children, it fuels the imagination. It enriches their world and view of the world. Although the time they start to show interest in reading and the rate of progress they make vary, it is important to encourage them. Reading is such an important skill every child must achieve.
What was odd about their shopping?
It has been 7 years since I bought myself a decent phone.
The last decent phone I had was the Nokia N-72. After the robbery incident in our home, in which my beloved phone sadly got included, I never got myself to buy another phone in that price range and that time the Nokia N72 was around 200USD here in Thailand. And so I bought myself a call and text phone (Nokia 107) and said to myself it’s all I need.
Fast forward to the present, I was persuaded by my husband to get a new phone and keep myself abreast with the present times and also my longtime friend and companion, my trusty Nokia 107, was showing signs of conking out. As we went window shopping I was astounded by the sheer volume of choices. You got Samsung neck and neck with Apple. You got LG, Huwawei, Sony, Nokia, Oppo, and another Chinese manufacturer which I can’t remember the name. I was having difficulty choosing which one to get for myself. So I kept on calling off my purchase date.
To help me with my purchase my hubby asked me a few questions to eliminate some of the selections and narrow down the candidates.
1. How much are you willing to shell out?
2. What do you really intend it for?
3. Any particular designs, color, or quirks you like or hate?
Well, one thing is for sure, I do not want to shell out more than 300USD just for a phone. I need a phone that is big enough for me to check on my blog, Facebook, e-mails and whatnot, without straining my eyes. It also should take very good photos (check them out here and join the phone photography challenge here) without me trying so hard at it. LOL! With my budget I have ruled out any kind of i-Phone but I really do love how it looks and of course its quality. The Samsung J7 was our first candidate as it met all of the desired specifications. But after reading the online reviews giving us tons of negative feedback, we backed track a whole lot. After checking it out for ourselves it proved to be true. So we moved on to the next candidate, the “Oppo F1s” I have never used an Oppo phone before but I have heard that it is quite popular amongst the teenagers here in Thailand. They said if you can’t afford the i-Phone get an Oppo.
Now, I am a very skeptical person especially with brand names. I always ask or research about it until I am satisfied with all the information and give me an emphatic sound reassurance. Reading its users review at a very popular phone website gave us mostly positive reviews and opinions. So we checked it out and Lo and Behold. The feel of the Oppo is more premium than what you’d expect from a relatively inexpensive phone. With its metal body it gives you that heft of reassurance in your hand. It’s wide screen gives out crisp and clear images with rich colors. So there… We have narrowed down the specifications I have in mind. A phone within the 300USD price range, big enough to avoid any eye strain, takes good photos, and with the dashing looks of an i-Phone.
What things have you done or acquired recently to jump in the bandwagon?
They say being pregnant is like having one foot in the grave. Well for me, it really felt like it. I had problems conceiving my second child to start with, and so the entire pregnancy was a roller coaster ride. Nevertheless, expecting a new member of the family is truly an exciting one.
I bet everyone in the Duggar family is excited to know the gender of Jill’s baby no. 2. Jill and her husband Derrick just announced on Monday, January 30th, via a TLC video, that, their second child…
The happy parents of Israel, now 2 years old, happily revealed together in a video clip that they’re having a another baby boy. Israel, who was too young to understand what was going on, was excited only because the people around him were excited too. That’s cute!
Jill said that she’s excited about the new boy on the way and she’s confident that Israel and his baby brother are going to be best friends.
The lovely couple tied the knot in June 2014 and were very eager to start a family as soon as possible. As reported back in December, Jill and Derick announced that they were expecting a second bun in the oven. And now, we’re happy that the son continues to develop well and is super healthy. Indeed another son is on its way.
This reality star couple, along with their two-year-old son, Israel, are expecting the new member of the family this coming July. 5 more months and another cute Duggar will be born!
Jill announced the news by doing a fun scavenger hunt, together with her younger siblings. Now that was fun! Congratulations to Jill and Derrick!
